POST HOLES & TREE HOLE DIGGING - DRILLING |
|
ABOUT PLANTER HOLES FOR TREES AND PLANTS When digging/drilling post holes for planting a tree or shrub, we use our 14" wide auger and drill as deep as is needed. If you are planting a small tree, one hole is sufficient. If you are planting a 30 gallon tree, or a 3ft. X 3ft. box size tree, we will need to drill 3 to 6 holes in either a triangle or rectangle pattern where all the holes connect together. If you are planting a large tree, the loose dirt in the hole will need to be cleaned out to make room for the large root ball. Then your tree can be placed into the hole, watered in, and the soil added back to fill the hole. We do only the drilling and digging for your tree planting needs, not the earth removal. And I want to take a moment to warn you of the amount of work required to clear a 3ft X 3ft hole of its dirt. There is almost 1 cubic yard of material in that hole. The dirt that would be removed could weigh between 2000 lbs. and 2500 lbs. How would you like to clear that amount of dirt for one tree, and do that a dozen time to plant 12 trees? I think that would be about 25,000 lbs! For this reason, we suggest you have us do the dirt clearing as well. But, you can not let us know you need us to do this at the time we arrive to drill your holes. We won't be prepared for doing that. We arrive prepared to do only what we have agreed upon which is drilling your holes! If you want us to clear all that dirt, and if you want us to plant your trees and water them in, let us know up front before we arrive. Whatever your tree and shrub planting needs may be, we have the right equipment with the right technology to provide the holes you need, where you need them. And we can also come prepared to do the earth removal work, and planting for you as well.
