POST HOLES & TREE HOLE DIGGING - DRILLING |
|
ABOUT POSTS AND HOLES In the Hill Country of Texas the ground
is very stable. This allows the use of just about any type of post to
be used in fencing, signage, columns, etc... There are two schools of
thought when it comes to digging holes for posts, one is for the hole to be
drilled just a little larger than the post, so as to minimize the amount of
cement required, and the other method is to dig the post hole quite a bit
larger than the post to allow for lots of concrete to be used in the hole.
Both ways can create stable posts depending on your needs. For
example, if you need to hang a 700 lb. ornamental gate on a post, the post
hole should be dug with a 14" auger, and should be dug to a depth of 3
1/2 ft or better. The post you use should be 6" pipe if using steel, and should
be 8" if using wood posts. There are many diverse needs for
hole digging in the Texas hill country. And, it is a tough environment
in which to dig or drill holes. For this reason, many people contact
us at Post Holes & Planter Holes to help with the effort in getting holes
installed on their property. We have worked with customers on a wide
array of projects, including fence post holes, holes for planting trees,
holes for setting up zip lines (yep, we do fun stuff too!), barns, deer
