OUR DIGGING / DRILLING EQUIPMENT

Our digging equipment consists of the newest technology available for drilling holes through rock or dirt, a Belltec hole drilling rig.  If you are not familiar with the Belltec, it excels at drilling holes where the standard 3pt. hitch, tractor mounted auger drilling systems just can not get the job done out in the Texas Hill Country.  Belltec drilling rigs can be mounted on bobcats, or tractors.  When mounted on bobcats they must be manually held straight up and down by the operator to get a straight and accurate hole drilled.  This can be guesswork!  Another  problem with bobcat mounted augers is that when a tough hole is drilled with a bobcat, it will tilt and tip the bobcat away from the hole - as the leverage is poor.  When mounted on a tractor, hydraulic cylinders keep the drill straight up and down and make for a very accurate hole.  And, the leverage is maximized because of the carriage mount and twin opposing hydraulic cylinders system.  So, we use the tractor mounted version.  This system allows us to apply just about the entire weight of the tractor and rig directly to the auger in the form of down pressure.  Our rig weighs about 12,000 lbs.  So, a lot of weight is behind the auger and it literally breaks, crushes, grinds, and demolishes rock and other impediments.  Keep in mind that the operator must know the equipment thoroughly.  We know when to push, and when to ease up.  There is a balance that must be maintained.  Raging forward like a bull in a china closet, and then ending up with the equipment broke down will not give you a completed project at the end of the day.
