POST HOLES & TREE HOLE DIGGING - DRILLING |
|
DIGGING DRILLING FOR WINDMILL INSTALLATION If you are installing a windmill and you need holes in hard ground, we can put in the deep and large size holes you need for support of your windmill. Holes for windmills must be extra deep holes, unusually wide holes such as 18" to 24" holes in difficult-to-drill locations. 12" wide holes can suffice for smaller windmills 25 ft tall and shorter. But for larger windmills in the 25 ft tall and taller range, you will need the holes to be 4 to 5ft deep, and 18" to 24" in diameter. Drilling and digging big, large holes for windmills takes specialized equipment. It can not be done with a tractor mounted auger like the ones you see on so many farms and ranches. Weight is one of the problems. It takes a lot of weight to push a large 18" or 24" auger down into the ground. But this is what you would need for a windmill install. The drilling rig must apply a lot of weight on the auger to force it down into the ground as it turns. And a tractor does not have that kind of weight to drill big, deep holes like ones we are talking about. The equipment necessary for this job can pick that farm tractor right up off the ground and suspend it in mid-air. That is the kind of machine that is heavy enough to make a large auger drill deep into the ground and make a large, deep hole for a windmill! Call us to drill your holes for rock wall supports, windmills, zip lines, heavy light poles, telephone poles, power poles, foundation support holes, and just about anything else you could need.
